How to setup full Snapt One ADC

To install a full Application Delivery Controller solution, please follow the instructions below.

Required Plugins:

The plugins can be installed by navigating to Setup -> Modules & Plugins -> Add Plugins.

Once you arrive on the modules and plugins page click on Add Plugins and you will need to click install on the following plugins.

  • Snapt One Load Balancer
  • Snapt One Web Accelerator
  • Snapt One Web Application Firewall

Step 1:

Head over to the load balancer dashboard where you will be prompted to use the “Create a load balancer” wizard to configure your first virtual load balancer by following the prompts that are provided on the screen.

*Please note that if you use port 80 on the load balancer, that you cannot use it on the SSL accelerator*

After you’ve completed your first load balancer group or Frontend/Backend configuration, you will be able to start the load balancer.

Step 2a:

Head over to the web accelerator and use the “Quick Setup” wizard to easily configure your first web accelerator. Follow the prompts provided on the screen to complete the web accelerator setup.

You may leave the default settings as is, but should you wish to, you may change them to suit your needs or environmental requirements.

*Important note: You cannot use the same listening port as what was set on the load balancer*

Step 2b:

Now that you have completed the initial setup wizard, navigate to Accelerator -> HTTP Servers (Frontends).

Once you are on the HTTP Servers page click “Settings” on the new frontend you just created.

Next, you can then enable a set of WAF options:

  • WAF Global Blocks
  • WAF IP Blocks
  • WAF Content Protection
  • WAF Triggers

The options you choose are dependant on the requirements.

If you have not already installed the WAF plugin, then make sure that it is installed as without the plugin these options will not appear on the web accelerator.

After you have completed Step 2a and 2b you may proceed to start the web accelerator.

Step 3:

The WAF will now be running when the web accelerator is started and you can select the WAF drop-down menu which provides you with a number of settings to choose from for configuring it more to your liking.

Please refer to our WAF Manual for a guide on using the WAF.
