Snapt and VMware are a match made in hypervisor heaven. With Snapt’s recent VMware Ready Certification you can be up and running, load balancing traffic, optimizing traffic delivery and blocking bad requests in 2 minutes or less.
So why Snapt and VMware?
VMware is market leader in virtualization technology and cloud infrastructure, and provides a fluid, instant and secure environment in which you can deploy Snapt. Further reduce your infrastructure cost by making use of the Snapt Accelerator to optimize traffic delivery.
Snapt also recently partnered with VMware and joined the VMware Technology Alliance Partner (TAP) program as an Access level partner. Members of the TAP program collaborate with VMware to deliver innovative solutions for the virtualization and cloud computing. The diversity and depth of the TAP ecosystem provides customers with the flexibility to choose a partner with the right expertise to satisfy their unique needs.
Snapt’s partnership with VMware is key to us as a high-performance load balancer provider. VMware offers enterprises the highest network performance, which is paramount to Snapt and our clients. We look forward to offering our VMware clients even more uptime, reliability and performance for their business-critical applications and services. – Dave Blakey, CEO.
Snapt has already collaborated with VMware on certifying Snapt through the VMware Ready program and has achieved full certifications for both ESXi 6,0 and 6,5. This program ensures that all VMware Ready applications have been thoroughly tested and thus means that Snapt performs to the highest level.
Let’s Get Started
Installing Snapt on VMware is very simple. Follow the steps below to get Snapt up and running in just a few clicks.
Step 1: Download the latest ESX / ESXi / VSphere OVF from our Downloads portal.
Step 2: Deploy
By default Snapt will run on 1vCPU and 2GB RAM. These are the minimum requirements to efficiently run Snapt, but this will also depend on your underlying hardware. We suggest selecting 2vCPU’s and 2GB RAM for the best experience. Also ensure that you select a network interface for Snapt as you’ll use your web browser to configure Snapt once you have deployed the OVF.
Step 3: Authentication
Before you can access the Snapt Dashboard, you’ll need to authenticate and serialize your install. Please use your Shop Account Details for this.
After you’ve authenticated your install, you’ll be presented with the Snapt Admin Portal log in screen. The default username is “admin” and password “admin”. We do advize changing this on your first log in.
Step 4: Plugin Installs
Now that you’ve logged in to the system for the first time, you will need to get started by installing a plugin. Navigate to Setup > Modules & Plugins > Add Plugins
Here you can install all of the plugins you might need. All Snapt licenses include the full product suite, so you will have access to all plugins listed.
Tip: For the full ADC suite, you’ll need to install the follow set of plugins: Balancer, Accelerator, WAF
*Snapt was installed on VMware ESXi 6,5, using 2vCPU’s(Intel(R) Xeon(R) E3-1231 V3 @ 3,40Ghz) and 2GB RAM
