What is a backend server in licensing?

When purchasing a Snapt Basic license you may notice that there is a limit to the number of backend servers per license which is an IP:port combination in the balancer.

For example, if you have a 5 Upstreams/backend server license (Bronze License) then you can only have up to 5 web servers behind the main server.

The higher up in the tier of basic licenses the more Upstreams/backends you will have available to you on your server unless you have purchased an Enterprise package which offers an unlimited amount of backend servers per license.

A Snapt license can only be deployed onto a single server at a time, see Serializing a license for more information.
